Edwin Lucas 'Eye for Colour' fashion show at the Edinburgh City Art Centre

Natural dyeing
Homemade natural dyes
I have begun revisiting natural dye for a new project with EDGE textile artists. The first attempt uses a mixture of pomegranate skins and turmeric powder. I dyed poplin cotton, linen, silk, polyester dorada, and various threads and some yarn.
Natural dyeing
I re-used some old milk cartons for a shibori technique. I think that wood is the traditional material used, however I had these cartons that I had saved, and they were easy to cut to the size I wanted for my pieces of folded fabric. Tied with strings, that are also dyed in the process.
