About me
Background information
I have been knitting for 30 years. I started making clothes for my daughters in the nineteen eighties, starting with small projects such as simple baby jumpers in single colours and progressing to more complicated items such as jumpsuits and hats.
As my family grew, I went on to work for Rowan Yarns as a Design Consultant within John Lewis and Jenners Department stores.
My work involved helping customers to select the correct yarn for their projects and teaching classes in Intarsia and Fairisle.
I organised workshops with Kaffe Fasset and since then I have continued to knit for family and friends.
Studies
I am studying for a degree in Textile Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. I have just graduated from Edinburgh College with an HND in Textiles and Fashion. Previously I returned to textiles by studying on the UAL Textile and Fashion design diploma course and graduated with a Distinction. I was also awarded a Student of the Year award for significant achievement in the subject.
On the UAL Diploma we held a fashion show at the Edinburgh City Art Centre.
